Each person had a name.

Each name has a candle.

And behind each candle, there is a story.

PSJC is embarking on a project with Shem VeNer, an organization committed to remembering each person murdered in the Shoah by making sure a personal remembrance candle is lit in every home on Yom Hashoah.

Creating personal candles gives the opportunity to focus on remembering a person, a name, a life story, and not just a number.

As more Holocaust deniers appear in the world, and as fewer and fewer survivors live to tell the story, it is our responsibility to make sure that the story never ends, that we remember and tell it again and again to future generations.

As we collect names from the community and create personal candles for them, we want to make sure that each candle and each name has its story. These stories are collected on this website and will be visible with the QR code on the back of each candle.

Continue the annual tradition of lighting a personal memorial candle together with family and friends. We are keeping their memory alive yearly, ensuring the collective memory of the six million will continue for generations to come. Experience a personal connection by reflecting upon and discussing the life of the person whom you are remembering. You choose who to remember: a relative, a hero, or a person by chance.

Light and Remember

Scan the bar code and you will get more information from the website. You can choose a label from an existing database or create your own label for a family member who perished in the Holocaust. You can then print the label and tape it to a standard-sized memorial candle.
